I love this place! It's a clean establishment with friendly staff and the sandwhiches are SO GOOD. I have a consistent order of Da Gumbo (chicken, sausage, and shrimp, holy trinity and their special gumbo gravy) and regular fries and its consistently flavorful and fresh. The sandwhiches are super hot when your order is ready because they make them to order and the portions are good. I recommend this place for a quick lunch spot because the food is fast and the value is on point

The classic with jalapenos is my go-to. I order 10-15 min in advance and let the steak marinate in the bread.

I love Philly Me Up! It's my favorite restaurant in BR and it's right by where I stay every time I'm in town. My mouth is watering just thinking about the phillys here!

This place is in a strip mall on jefferson highway which is anchored by the On Court Tennis store. had an errand away from downtown and 4 of us took the road trip to eat somewhere new and ended up here----you order at the counter and seat yourself with seating for about 30-35 inside and 12 outside and during the lunch hour it was more or less at capacity the entire time we were there---of course the main offering is Philly cheesesteak but in this era of variety they have many offerings with a little this or that---Cajun, bacon, Texas, etc. we all order something different with fries and walked away satisfied. They have a combo special of a philly-type sandwich with fries and drink. There is a surcharge for onion rings.

1st time here & highly recommend this place. The best Philly steak sandwich in BR. The Italian steak sandwich was awesome. We'll be going back again.

Never knew this place existed until I met up with my wife and sis in law here. I had the "Gumbo" sandwich... ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

Great Philly sandwiches, probably the best I have ever had. I love the cajun, really spicy and delicious. All of the subs are great. Very simple decor, order at the counter style and it is a small place. Service seems ok and the place is clean. The sandwiches will set you back 6-8 dollars for a half and 11-13 for a whole but definitely worth it. I love this place and frequent it often.

As far as cheese steak sandwiches go , this little strip mall restaurant is a true gem. I've never been to Philly , but I don't know how it could get much better than this. They also had some of the best fries I've ever had.Kind of expensive , but worth it. I'm in ATX , wishing we had a place like this here.

Nice change of pace for my typical eating routine. The classic Philly cheesesteak was peppery and savory. It had just the right amount of onions. The small hoagie was enough for me and was only 5 dollars and some change. I would definitely go back.

Baton Rouge is not know for their philly cheesesteaks, but I have found a great little place that is definitely knows their way around a pretty amazing cheesesteak sandwich! I have tried several items from their menu, but there is not anything in particular that I encourage you to try...I encourage you try them all! If you do have to recommend one..."The Loaded" is de-lish...it is exactly what it is...loaded with great steak, mushrooms, cheese. The place gets busy during lunch, so I suggest getting there early!

I know what you're thinking. How much variety can I expect from a shop that specializes in Philly cheesesteaks. Well, the answer is: a whole lot. This shop has an amazing assortment of sandwiches to choose from. Like it classic? Go for it. Want something with a little southern pizzazz? Try the Cajun or, my personal favorite, the Gumbo. This shop has almost everything. Great environment, great food, good prices, and a friendly staff. Looking for something kid friendly, this is your place. You can get a child's cheesesteak with fries and a drink for $5. The only negative things I can say is that it is in a strip mall, so parking is limited, and the hours aren't especially good (they are only open until 7pm weekdays.) Several TV's and southern flare line the walls. All in all, this is a great place to catch lunch, or bring home dinner from. Just, don't be too late about it.

I think if you're looking for a nice hole in the wall place where you can get some great sandwiches, this is the place to check out. Discovered this place a few years ago with a friend, and we instantly became fans. If the place gets busy, seats will fill up really quickly because it is such a small place. Have a variety of sandwiches that aren't limited to just Philly Cheesesteak.

I love this place. Best phillly sub style sandwiches in baton rouge. Fresh menu choices, served up fresh and quick. I can't stop going back. My favorite sandwich spot in baton rouge!

This is definitely my favorite place to go for a Philly cheesesteak. I recommend trying the gumbo. This sandwich was inspired by gumbo and the flavors are right on point. I also recommend, the surf & turf or any of the classics. You really can't go wrong at Philly Me Up!

Probably the best cheesesteak I've ever had (although I've never had one in Philly). The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is always good. I've never been disappointed with the portions - they do not skimp on the steak. I'd probably go here for lunch several times a week if cheesesteaks weren't so expensive. (Of course I'd also probably weigh 400 pounds, so I guess it all works out.) It gets pretty busy at lunch, and all the food is made fresh, so wait times can be a bit long. If you're in a rush plan to get there before 11:30. However, the sandwiches are worth it.

Shroom Philly is awesome. Lots of meat. Very much enjoyed.

Awesome place to grab lunch. The sandwiches are made to order. The portions are huge, and the staff is always friendly. My wife and I go several times a month and the food is always consistent, which is an underrated quality in a restaurant. I would, and have, recommended Philly Me Up to co-workers and family. The only drawback is that they have limited hours. They close fairly early and aren't open on Sundays. Great place!

The moment you walk in you are awaken by the best smelling sandwishes this side of the mississippi...... The food was perfect, the staff was great, BUT the time it takes to get a meal was a little on the long side..... We go there around 11:20am 2 people ahead of us... Order was taken right away but we didnt see our meal until :25 mins later... in front of us was 2 individual sandwishes... Oh well, I will visit again of course, but need a faster pace in preparation.... Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great little place on Jefferson. Various sandwiches, all of which are delicious (cheesesteak is HIGHLY recommended), with food (and fries!!) cooked to order right in front of you. Cheap and delicious.
